Frequently asked questions
Can I go anywhere in New Paltz after getting my bike or do I need to only stay on the rail trail?
We recommend staying on the trails. There are many great shops in New Paltz, but you are paying for the bikes by the hour, so you should plan on checking out the shops before or after your scheduled trip.
Are there any late fees?
Other customers are scheduled to use the equipment after you so we ask that you return by your scheduled end time. We charge $20 for every 15 minutes you are late.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer full refunds if you cancel your reservation 48 hrs in advance. You can change your scheduled time and date up to 24 hours prior to booking if it’s available. No refunds or changes within 24 hrs of your scheduled appointment.
If there is inclement weather during your scheduled booking, we offer you a rain check ; just email us with your preferred date and time for easy rescheduling.
What are the best biking trails in the area?
Two of the best trails in New Paltz are the River to Ridge Trail and the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail (AKA The Empire State Trail). NPB is located on the river to ridge trail and is a short ride on a trail to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail.
Other great local places are Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Preserve, Walkway over the Hudson and the Ashokan Trail.
Can I bring my kids on this trail?
We have great options to get your kids out on the trail with you. We have trailers (ages 1-5) trail-a-bikes (ages 4-7) and children’s sized bikes. Bring your family for a great biking adventure.
